Laugh – Slowly

For my computer nerd friends…

The reasons our computers at work are slow-
You might have a virus!
Did you do a disk cleanup?
There are too many icons on your desktop!
Did you clear your cookies?
Have you defragmented lately?

The real reason-
Most computers here at work are 512 MB Ram, with a 256 MB here and there…
running on a 512 mB server.
Hmmmm. You think?!

Sounds like you need a server upgrade. If the programs you are running on the workstations are installed on the server & the server is slow, its going to slow down the workstations. I would start with upgrading the ram on the server to 2gb. If that doesn’t help then it might be time to upgrade to a new server.

If you upgrade to a new server I would recommend getting a Solid State Drive for the hard drive. Its newer technology kind of related to the little sd cards which has no moving parts and is faster (especially for servers). The old hard drives have moving parts and are much slower when processing.

Hope you get the slowness issues resolved. I know how frustrating it is when you are talking to a customer and the computer works slower than you! Happened all the time when I worked for SunTrust Bank.
