I’ve really been “falling down on the job” – I’ve been spending more time than I should on cruisecritic.com, where I am in a “chat room” with people that will be traveling on the same cruise we will be on. Dude- “chat room” seems like such an old term… ha. Anyway, I’ve met some really nice people on that board that I just can’t wait to meet when we board the ship!
I called T-Mobile today, and checked into cell rates while we are away. Luckily, Puerto Rico is a “free” call, since it’s part of the U.S. At least I can call family to let them know we are safe, and getting ready to board the ship. It’s kind of one of those things where you tell family, “Unless someone falls overboard, dies… or if we win a HUGE jackpot on board… I’ll talk to you in seven days!” I will feel better at least knowing that we’ve told the fam we are safe. For those of you who have never cruised- NEVER ever make a cell phone call on a cruise ship- the cost is $4.99 per minute. YIKES.
While I’m on the subject of travel… SB and I decided to book one-way tickets to and from Puerto Rico – we found a super deal on Delta… we ended up saving about $150. on the flights. NICE.
We are still debating on excursions at the various islands… we want to experience all there is to see… so far, we like a horseback riding tour in St. Maarten, and a scenic tour in St. Lucia. We haven’t booked either, yet… but I just don’t want to be one of those couples that spends all their time on the boat, or at the various beaches – We are going somewhere completely new, and I want to come back with great stories and pics!
CRUISE COUNTDOWN: 53 DAYS
Hi!
Thanks for the “nod” re: our fabulous Cruise Community. Just to clear things up, we’re actually community *forums*, and the specific venue you are referring to would be our famous ROLL CALLS.
Lots of fun, fantastic information being shared, as well as a great group of new friends!
