A bit overdue…

I decided earlier this month that I would do better at making posts. It thought once a week would be good, but thankfully, made no promises.
To recap a little… my parents were in from Tennessee for Thanksgiving. We had our usual feast with Steven’s family- my parents seemed very excited to be a part of a large gathering. This was definitely a great idea for us - Steven and I both got to be with our families, without having to split up or travel.

After the Thanksgiving holidays… we had some changes at work. Please keep my workmate in your thoughts, as she’s going through a rough time right now. It was all a big surprise to come back to. I’m getting some new responsibilities, which likely means more job security, too.

This past week, I’ve had something going on with my eye- it somewhat resembles pink eye, but doesn’t have a lot of the same characteristics. I don’t know what brought it on… maybe the new stress from work? Who knows? It’s looking a lot better today — but I’m still using “pink eye drops” and wearing my glasses just in case. It’s amazing how many people didn’t even know I had glasses!

Friday was the first night of Hanukkah. SB and I went to his aunt & uncle’s house to celebrate. As always, it was good to see family… and his uncle made cosmopolitans!
We have one more Hanukkah gathering this week - the wedding of SB’s cousin this upcoming weekend, where we will light candles for the last night, as well as celebrate their marriage.

I wrote all of my Hanukkah cards last weekend, and this weekend finished all of the Christmas cards. For a few hours, I felt very productive!
If you are writing cards this year… where is the farthest one traveling? Other than the two I have going to Germany… my cards travel to Georgia, Tennessee, Virgina, Illinois, Texas and Pennsylvania. I’m actually surprised I don’t have more states covered!

Ch-ch-ch-changes….the only thing constant is change. I should really get back on the christmas card band wagon. I haven’t mailed out cards in years.

Oh my gosh…I too had the pink eye thing going on before Christmas it was really strange but thankfully went away before the time arrived for pictures. It wasn’t pink eye but I definately had to use the drops. I loved doing my Christmas cards this year. I finally tried the “make your own” photo cards at Walgreen’s and they turned out great! I put three different pics on there including one of me with Santa Claus ;) So much fun putting those together. Mine went to Tennessee, West Virginia, and I suppose Florida was the one that was mailed the farthest distance away.

Something to try next year if you haven’t already…an ornament exchange. I agreed to have my name put on a list and all of the names were put in a hat and drawn out. I had to mail an ornament to some random lady I didn’t know who lived in Knoxville and I received a beautiful ornament from someone else. It was really cool to get a wonderful new decoration for my tree from a total stranger.

Hope you and SB have a Happy New Year!
