I love Cruises
I love cruising…
But I also love my bed… my big shower… pump soap… my dog…
Our trip was amazing! We departed Port Canaveral on Monday afternoon- we boarded at 12:10, even though the boat wasn’t leaving until 4:30! It seemed to be a perfect time to board, as the lines were not long and moved quickly. It also helped that we have passports instead of birth certificates - the birth certificate line was nuts!
We could get into our staterooms until 1pm, so we roamed around the ship… figuring out where everything was. This boat wasn’t much different from the Sovereign, so it seemed easy to find everything. Our stateroom was as good as can be expected - we had the “obstructed view” deck… but thanks to our wonderful travel agent… it was only 22% obstructed (there was a skinny pole in front of the window). The room I’d originally tried to book had a 65% obstruction, so this was much nicer.
After experiencing “Feeding Time” in the WindJammer cafe (the place is crazy - you would think these people had never eaten before), we found a bar/lounge that would soon become our favorite bar on ship. The bartender introduced herself as Stephanie from Jamaica- first, you can’t go wrong with someone named Stephanie (usually)… and second, she loved that we were “S-B-squared.”
Tuesday we arrived at CocoCay. SB and I had already decided to stay on the ship, since we weren’t that impressed with CocoCay last year. Most guests left the ship, so we had a lot of peace and quiet!
It was an overcast, windy day… and we went up to the top deck to lay out for a little while. (*dumbass alert*) Since it was overcast, I decided not to wear sunscreen. After only 30 minutes on the top deck, I was ready to get inside. By the end of the night… my legs were bright RED! After another day, my ankles were swollen! I definitely had a “special” conversation piece.
Wednesday, we left ship to go to Nassau. We walked through the city, and I bought my shirt and keychain from Señor Frogs. We took a cab to Atlantis, where I decided I needed to make a donation to their casino! For once, I didn’t donate, though… a $5 dollar bill into a slot machine was lucky for me! I ended up cashing out $96! That is sooo something that never happens to me!!
Later, I was gambling on a one-cent slot on ship… and a $5 investment turned into $18 - not as good as Atlantis, but you should never complain about winning! For once in my life, I can say had more cash in my pocket coming home than I did when I left!
While on ship, I had my first Mojito. I’m sad to say that I wasn’t impressed - Bartender Stephanie said the wrong person made it. Who knows - maybe I’ll try another one someday. Not one to complain about liquor, I must say the Cosmopolitans, Ocean ‘Ritas, and daiquiris were awesome!!
I never thought I would say this… but I loved having no cell phone or text messaging!
The trip ended too soon, of course… and it’s back to the grind.

I’m so glad you finally posted! I’m excited that you won at the slots. It’s always a good thing when you come out with more than you started!
