Computer Genius?
Yesterday morning I received an email from a friend of mine regarding a computer issue. For some reason, some people think I know a lot about computers - not so much.
Anyway, the email was funny… so I thought I would share it with you.
Friend: Hey! Sweetie ~
How do you flip the screen on the monitor when it has been turned upside-down????
Help . . . . .
Me: [laughing, wondering... what the??] How the HECK did you manage that?!
[meanwhile, I am searching this on Google, because I have never experienced this problem]
Friend: Wrong answer!!!!!! When I turned the other computer on this morning, it was upside-down. Would this mean you aren’t sure how to correct it???
Me: Okay. Sorry!
I had to look that one up - I have never done that in all my life!!
Here’s what I found - See if this works –
Right click a blank area of your Desktop
Select Graphics Options
Choose Graphics properties
Select the Rotation tab
After you set it back to normal… uncheck the “Enable Rotation” box
Friend: [After a few minutes - in really big colored letters]
YOU ARE THE ABSOLUTE BOMB!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
So I guess this means I rock.
I learned one more thing about computers yesterday - though I’m not sure why anyone would want to rotate their screen… and I’m still unsure how Friend’s computer got that way.
Anyway, her email really made my day.

You can also press CTRL-ALT Down Arrow to flip it upside down and CTRL-ATL Up Arrow to make it right-side up again.

Very interesting - see… you learn something new every day!
Perhaps when Friend was logging in, or when the previous person logged out… hit CTRL ALT Arrow, instead of CTRL ALT DEL. Hmmm…
Thanks for the input!

I’ve been in IT now for 4 years, and that’s a new one on me. At least now I know how to fix it if it does happen to someone.
Thanks Stef!

Hmm I think this would be a great joke to pull on people who leave their computer unlocked at work!! Turn everything upside down!! I know exactly who I’m going to trick with this one!! LOL

Ha! I used to prank people with this all the time at Cingular. They’d always freak out!
Shoo, imagine being an IT guy like Bill…everyone asks him computer questions and he gets soo sick of it. He even hates it when I ask him, I forgot to tell him that that is the reason I married him
JK of course.
