July Wishes, Part II

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

My list of birthdays for the second half of the month are kind of scarce.  Fear not, August looks better - lots of cousins!

July 21: Happy Birthday Aunt Franceen
July 22: Happy Birthday Tiffanie Greene - 27

Hope you all have a great birthday!
If I’ve forgotten you, please let me know so that I can add you to my list! :)

Feast #196

Feast One Hundred & Ninety Six
Appetizer
When was the last time you had your hair cut/trimmed?
Ummm, well… it was right before my cruise - so, May 21. I’m really lazy when it comes to having my hair cut.
When I lived in Tennessee, Robin always took good care of me - reminding me that I needed a cut, then cutting it for me while we were at work!

Soup
Name one thing you miss about being a child.
No Responsibilities! I couldn’t wait to grow up! Little did I know that growing up meant no summer vacation, bills, work, etc…

Salad
Pick one: butter, margarine, olive oil.
I guess I don’t really have a preference - I’ll eat whatever hubby cooks for me!

Main Course
If you could learn another language, which one would you pick, and why?
I used to always say German, because I have lots of family in Germany that I would love to communicate better with - I know some German, but I always wanted to know more. As I get older, though, and further into the work force… I think I would like to know more Spanish.

Dessert
Finish this sentence: In 5 years I expect to be…
Eeek. I don’t know!
I guess I expect to be loved, happy, self-sufficient, financially stable, 35 years old … and maybe a parent.

SSDD

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Have you ever felt like you have a lot to say… but don’t quite know how to get started in saying (or typing) it all?
Actually, truth be known… I don’t think I really have that much to say.
My parents are traveling in the Northwestern part of the U.S., and they’ve been gone almost a month - still, when my mom calls… I can’t think of a single interesting thing to tell her. It’s always just, SSDD, that I tell her - just working…. nothing new. I suppose all the things I think about on a daily basis just aren’t worth saying aloud, or even posting.

Our 4th of July weekend was relatively uneventful… other than a few trips to Winston’s and my adventures in cat-sitting.
I spent a few hours on Friday with a friend by her pool. Though I was offered sunscreen, I chose to try and get burnt instead. The sun was in and out throughout the afternoon, and it never really got that hot.
I used sunscreen/block on the cruise, and came back looking like I spent my cruise indoors! I succeeded in getting some sun over the weekend - nothing too painful or unbearable, but just enough to keep a slight summer glow.

I am happy to see that Jeff Francoeur is back in Atlanta. He was sent to AA Mississippi last week for more practice. At least the Braves are willing to work with him instead of trading him - I would hate for him to leave ATL.
But… now that he’s back, he needs to shave that “dirt” of his face.

The past two evenings we’ve had big storms here, complete with lots of thunder and loud lightning crashes. Finally my grass will look better!
Yes, I remembered to unplug the computers!
The rain is much welcomed, and I am just thankful that I haven’t had to drive in it!

I need Jeans

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

I’m in the market for new jeans.
Lately, I’m having a very difficult time finding the “perfect” pair. I need something long for (sort-of) tall people. I really like the 34″ inseam.
I don’t have a preference on the color of the denim. I’ve found that the juniors sizes are awful on me, and women’s sizes - well, I don’t have a big butt… and I don’t want pleats!
I want a mid rise… something right around or just below my belly button.
I had some awesome DKNY jeans - but, they’ve been discontinued! (Why does it seem that the things I like always get discontinued?!!) I used to wear the (old style) American Eagle “Favorite” jeans, but now those jeans’ rise is… well, really, really low.
So - any ideas? I don’t think I am being that picky - I just think I am too old to be young…. but too young to be old. Suggestions are much appreciated!
